Career
"Only when I began studying chemical engineering did I realize that I myself might discover something new about the nature of the world"
-Linus Pauling
Throughout my academic career at North Carolina State University, I hope to earn a degree in chemical engineering. Upon doing so, I will eventually work in the pharmaceutical sector of this field. While being a pharmaceutical chemical engineer, I will work to improve medicines and maybe even help to engineer medicines that can cater to an individuals direct needs, which happens to be one of the Engineering Grand Challenges of the decade. I hope to work within a lab so that I can have daily hands-on experience. I can see myself holding this job because I enjoy problem solving and helping people on a daily basis. In order for me to accomplish this, I am going to have to continue to work extremely hard in all of my classes. I have my four years of schooling planned out in my degree audit and hope to take some general education classes over the summer months so that I can have more time throughout the school months to focus on classes that are for my degree. I hope to soon start looking for internships to hold during the summers where I am not going to be taking any classes.
Here is a look at what my next four years will most likely look like:
Lifestyle
The lifestyle that I will live will not come to me without a lot of hard work. Although I am not quite sure where I will end up living, I know that I will ultimately have to follow my career. I have high hopes that my career will not dislocate me from the people that I love most. I have grown up taking twenty minute drives to visit my grandparents and hope that my children have the same luxury. Something that I am most looking forward to is being able to raise a family. I am going to make sure that my children grow up having a family oriented lifestyle because I want them to recognize that they will always have a set group of people to come to for help of any sort. I hope to teach my children how to love others through loving them unconditionally. I also hope that I am able to share some of my passions with my future family, including plenty of time out on the lake. Having grown up on the lake, I know that some of the best memories come from simply being there surrounded by people who you love and people who love you just the same. I cannot wait to make such great memories with my current and future family.
